MacKenzie Beach on Liberty Lake

One of the pleasures of living in Liberty Lake is our rich history. Dating back to Native American settlement the beauty of the natural setting made Liberty Lake a favorite place for spending summers. One of the early settlers of Liberty Lake was a wealthy businessman, Roderick MacKenzie, who in 1890 purchased 160 acres around what is now called “Mackenzie Bay” and with it the most beautiful natural sand beach on the lake.
